Description

Grasp the Business Side of Art with Magali Maïza

This course takes place over 3 sessions on March 2nd, March 9th, and March 16th.

Can I make a living by selling my art full-time? Why are my artist friends' careers thriving, while mine is at a standstill? How can I grow my art practice by using different styles or mediums, without losing my current audience? These questions may come to an artist's mind at different points throughout their professional career. While the answers are unique to each artist; all can benefit from gaining the entrepreneurial skills needed to move from one professional step to another successfully.

This course offers a comprehensive and practical approach to the business of art. Using a combination of case studies, real-world examples, and financial tools participating artists at any point in their career will be able to either launch their art business or strengthen it. With a focus on the individual, this class will also be an opportunity for artists to reflect on their professional art practice, connect, and exchange ideas using concepts they learn and put into action during the course.

Session 1: Mapping of Artist’s Business Environment

Session 2: Essential Financial Tools to Help Decision-Making

Session 3: Case Studies’ Presentation and Feedback

Magali is an avid traveler and enjoys working on creative projects in her kitchen, garden, and ceramics studio.
