Description
Intro to Coptic Bookbinding
In this workshop, participants will be able to expand their art practice into the pages of book-making. Participants will be creating two types of books, the first will be a one-page book, which encourages participants to think deeply and interact with content. Then we will be using the Coptic binding method. The Coptic Binding process has been used as early as the 2nd Century AD by Early Christians in Egypt, also known as the Copts. There are many variations for this particular process, however, at the simplest form, it refers to multi-section bindings. Participants can use this method to create their own photo albums, zines, brochures, sketchbooks, or notebooks for creative writing. This course is open to all levels.
Students will received a materials packet in the mail. This fee is included in the workshop fee.
All program registrations close 1 week prior to the program date, at 5pm.
ZOOM links for all classes are sent out the day before the first class date, no later than 5pm.
