Getting to the Big Picture with Julie Gearan
Getting past the intimidation of making a larger or more sustained work of art can be a daunting task. You may feel ready to plunge, but not sure quite how to get started. This workshop is designed to investigate modes of idea-making and problem solving to help get you working on that big project.
In the first session of this two-day workshop, you will work on collaging found and collected images to come to or clarify your ideas. You will work through ideas of color and composition and eventually paint into the collage with water-based materials. In the second session, with a week to gather materials and ponder, you will begin your larger work! With input from the instructor and your peers, you will leave with the direction and motivation to continue your work independently. There will be a 30-minute break for lunch, which will not be provided.
This is a two-day workshop for intermediate and advanced artists. Participants must be able to attend both dates: 4/18/20 + 4/25/20. To purchase tickets for this workshop, please go here.
