Our opening reception might be cancelled, but we're still celebrating our 2020 National Prize Show! Join us on May 14, at 6:30pm, for a conversation with our 2020 Juror, Sharon Butler, painter and publisher of Two Coats of Paint

Moderated by CAA Director Erin Becker, the conversation will last approximately 30 minutes, with 15 minutes for Q&A

   

About the Sharon Butler | A painter and arts writer, Sharon Butler is the publisher of Two Coats of Paint. She has had two New York solo shows (2015, 2018) at Theodore:Art, both of which were selected as Critic’s Picks in Time Out New York and New York Magazine and positively reviewed in Hyperallergic. Grants and residencies include Creative Capital / The Warhol Foundation’s Art Writers Program Grant, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, Yaddo Artists and Writers Residency Fellowships (2015, 2018), Counterproof Press Artist in Residence, and Two Trees Cultural Subsidized Space Award. She is a graduate of the University of Connecticut (MFA) and spent ten years in the Boston area studying at MassArt (BFA, painting), and Tufts University (BA, Art History). She lives in New York City and currently teaches at Cornell University and the New York Academy of Art.
