Beading in Embroidery with Jennifer LaMontagne

THIS WORKSHOP WILL BE HELD ON ZOOM, IN TWO SESSIONS

Session 1: Saturday, August 22, 10:30am - 12:30pm

Session 2: Saturday, August 29, 10:30am - 12:30pm

Attendees will also have a 30-minute, one-on-one session with Jen in between the sessions

Learn to sculpt unique beads from polymer clay to incorporate in your embroidery and textile art. In this workshop, participants will learn how to attach seed beads, bugle beads, and sequins to create texture and form on the surface of your artwork. Start a new piece or bring a current “work in progress” to incorporate your beads.

This course is for participants who have some prior knowledge of embroidery. However, anyone that also registered for Beginner Embroidery with Jennifer LaMontagne could also register for this workshop.

About Jennifer LaMontagne

Jennifer LaMontagne is a fiber artist and embroideress. She explores line, form, and color through her works of art. Texture, dynamic compositions, and memories are the driving force behind her creations.

In her most recent works, she explores abstraction and vibrant colors through the traditional art of embroidery. Jennifer received a B.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from the University of New Hampshire. Her training as an oil painter, informs her embroideries as she composes juxtaposing stitches, colors, and shapes on fabric. The colors, shapes, and compositions of each piece are inspired by memories from her childhood and adulthood. She is drawn to embroidery, especially discovering its place in the world of fine arts as a woman.
