Observational and Conceptual Color with Julie Gearan
THIS WORKSHOP WILL BE HOSTED ON ZOOM
This one-day color-intensive will help you to get a grasp on color as something we see, feel, contemplate, and finally, communicate with. Using water-based materials and paper, you will learn (or be refreshed on!) the basics of color theory, color mixing, making the colors you see and finding a palette of colors that you find inspirational.
All participants, regardless of experience are sure to gain valuable insight into the complex and rich world of color.
All program registrations close 1 week prior to the program date, at 5pm.
ZOOM links for all classes are sent out the day before the first class date, no later than 5pm.
About Julie Gearan
Julie Gearan studied at the Arts Student League of NY, Tyler School of Art (BFA), Yale Summer School of Art at Norfolk and Indiana University (MFA). She has lived and worked in New York, Philadelphia, Rome, Florence, and Chicago. She currently lives in Providence, RI and teaches painting and drawing at Roger Williams University and the Rhode School of Design. Gearan’s portrait of Governor Lincoln Chaffee hangs permanently in the RI State House and her work has been collected nationally. More of her paintings can be seen at Cade Tompkins Projects in Providence, RI and at the Harmon Gallery in Wellfleet, MA.
