Virtual Workshop Series: Develop Your Sketchbook with Boriana Kantcheva

THIS CLASS WILL BE HOSTED ON ZOOM

This class will meet for 5 consecutive Wednesdays, beginning October 14

“Develop Your Sketchbook” is a mixed media class where each 2 hour session focuses on a specific theme or technique. Here are some examples of what the class can offer:

- Collage with Found Materials – in this class students will use their own old book pages, magazines, printouts. The theme is to create a “surreal” world playing with found images, scale, color and composition.

- Painterly Collage with Painted Papers – students will paint their own papers using acrylic paint. Once dry the papers will be cut and made into collage that can be abstract or objective. With the teacher’s guidance students will learn about color choices, mixing color, creating textures and working on a strong composition.

- Introduction to Working with Inks and Gel Pens – students will use variety of inks and gel pens to create nature inspired works.

- Inspirations from Other Artists – look at work of other artist and interpret a piece.
