Description
Non Objective Drawing, with Kate Hanlon
This online workshop series meets on ZOOM for 3 consecutive Tuesdays, beginning November 9, 2021 (6:00 - 8:00pm).
Non objective art allows us to focus on the formal elements of art-making without having to struggle with recognizable subject matter. Beginning with simple mark making, we’ll explore composition, shape, line, surface, space and movement. These elements, simply stated with non-specific subject matter, can evoke poetic or spiritual sensibilities. We will look at the work of other artists to get ideas for different approaches. In-class discussion, exercises and homework assignments will explore aspects of non objective drawing and guide students toward a personal vocabulary of expression. This class is fun, supportive and open to all levels of experience.
Materials List forthcoming!
