Up-Cycled Plastic Objects, with Kim Bernard

Tuesday, November 15, 6:00-8:00pm

Join artist Kim Bernard for this series of Zoom make-along workshops where participants will upcycle plastic trash into a Tote Bag, Triangle Pouch, Belt, Wallet, Wind Sock and Shrink Plastic into Earrings, Pendants and Key Chains. All you need are colorful plastic bags, parchment paper, scissors, an iron, ironing board or towel.

  • Session 1: November 15 - Tote Bag - Reuse some colorful plastic bags to create a sturdy, new shopping tote, lunch sack or carry-all bag.
  • Session 2: November 22 - Wallet - Not only will this snazzy wallet hold your money, but it will save you money since it’s upcycled from plastic bags that were destined for the landfill.
  • Session 3: November 29 - Wind Sock - Catch a breeze and catch your neighbors eyes with a colorful windsock made of recycled plastic bags.
  • Session 4: December 6 - Shrink Plastic: Earrings, Pendant, Key Chain - Start collecting some #6 plastic sheet cake lids, plastic clam shell food containers. We’ll be adding Sharpie for color, cutting and shrinking plastic into all kinds of new doodads.
