Jennifer Lamontagne Kirwin

As a fiber artist and embroideress, I explore line, form, and color through my works of art. Texture, dynamic compositions, and memories are the driving force behind my creations. In my most recent works I am exploring abstraction and vibrant colors through the traditional art of embroidery. My training as an oil painter informs my embroideries as I compose juxtaposing stitches, colors, and shapes on fabric. The colors, shapes, and compositions of each piece are inspired by memories from my childhood and adulthood. I am drawn to embroidery, especially discovering its place in the world of fine arts as a woman.
